For nearly 30 years and in many scenarios, Charles Tapp has served as a pastor, professor, administrator, writer and radio/television host sharing God’s love and saving grace with the world.  His ministry is fueled by the message found in Zechariah 4:6: ”Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty.”   Prayer is at the center of his life and the way he leads the ministry of Sligo Church.  An avid racquet sports fan and reader, he also enjoys being a lifelong student.  He and his wife, Maureen, a nurse administrator, have three grown daughters.

Originally from Jamaica, Don McFarlane worked as a pastor and church administrator in the British Union for thirty three years. He and his wife Mary have three children and two grandchildren. Pastor McFarlane is excited about the return of Jesus to earth but at the same time is passionate about the kingdom of God here and now. He holds to the view that love for one another is the purest expression of God’s kingdom in the life of the believer and has as the point of reference for his ministry the compassion that Jesus demonstrated in His own ministry.

 

Debbie Eisele is grateful for 11 years of service at Sligo and hopes to make the joy of service contagious!
Debbie’s ministry is best summarized by the words of Isaiah 50:4:  “The Almighty Lord will teach me what to say, so I will know how to encourage weary people. Morning after morning he will wake me to listen like a student.”
After 15 years of volunteer ministry in four different countries, Debbie, along with her husband Herbert value diversity and the creativity it engenders.

She is very excited to come back home to Sligo and to see where God is leading the youth and young adult departments. She claims the promise that God has entrusted each person with a specific gift and calling in their lives. She is looking forward to the continual development of her own gifts and supporting the youth and young adults in discovering and developing God’s special calling in their own lives.

 Born in Argentina, Paolo was raised in a pastoral home, his family has been blessed to be part of the ministry of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. After high school , Paolo felt Gods calling to ministry and decided to do a double major in Theology and Communications at River Plate University (Argetina). Since then Paolo has worked for the Communication’s Department at Potomac Conference and pastored a Small congregation in Highland Co. Va.

Pr. Gerry Lopez was born in Oaxaca Mexico, but immigrated to the United States 1971.  He lived in California most of his life and is a fourth generation Adventists who loves serving the church specially kids and youth.  Pr. Gerry graduated with a B.A. in Theology from Antillean Adventist University in Mayaguez, PR in 2010.  He has served as Youth Pastor at Hemet Valley SDA church in CA, UAA University Church, and West Palm Beach Spanish Church before his arrival to Sligo.  He truly loves working with children and youth of all ages because he believes that kids are the future of the church and the youth are the present of the church.  He understands that a church will have an expiration date if it does not actively minister to these groups.  Pr. Gerry is married to Eunice and they have two daughters, Brianah and Viahnca.
